Rajshahi was recently abuzz with cultural activity. Udichi Shilpi Goshthi of Rajshahi University unit recently organised a discussion and cultural programme at RUCSU office to mark the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

In the course of the discussion, Shantanu Kawsar presented a keynote paper titled Rabindra Drishti: Shikha.

Later, a poetry recitation programme was held, conducted by Udichi activist Shishir Saha Apu. Udichi artistes performed Tagore songs after the discussion. The musical programme was conducted by Udichi RU General Secretary, Abu Sayem.

Teachers, students and visitors attended the programme.

Rajshahi Lekhika Sangha, (an organisation of women writers of Rajshahi) also held a discussion and cultural programme at Hatem Khan city office to observe Tagore’s birth anniversary. A discussion was held on the life, works and achievements of the great bard.

Professor Rasheda Khalek, Hamida Haque, Rabeya Haque, Parvin Banu and Anu Chowdhury spoke on the occasion. Later, Rabeya Haque and Mahmuda Ahmed recited poems.

Sammilito Sanskritik Jote of Rajshahi University unit organised a daylong cultural programme at the Folklore Department premises to celebrate the 147th birth anniversary of Tagore.

Eminent litterateur Professor Hassan Azizul Haque was the chief guest at the programme.

Teachers, students, dramatists and cultural activists attended the venue.
