National Tabla Festival ‘08 to be held soon
Padakkhep Bangladesh is organising a daylong tabla festival titled “National Tabla Festival 2008″, to be held on July 16, says a press release. The programme will be held at the Shawkat Osman Auditorium, Public Library.
Around 150 talented tabla artistes from all over Bangladesh will be presenting solo and choral compositions at the festival. Ustad Kamruzzaman Moni and Pandit Madan Gopal Das will be honoured for their significant contribution to this art form.
A press conference regarding the festival was held recently at the office of Padakkhep Bangladesh. Poet Asad Chowdhury; Badal Choudhury, President of Padakkhep Bangladesh; and Arzu Parvez Titu, coordinator of the festival were present at the meeting.
