Concert for an ailing teacher
The contestants of close up 1 performed at a concert held at Pabna Stadium recently. The concert was jointly organised by the district administration, police department, Pabna Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Pabna Press Club.
The purpose was to generate funds for the treatment of Hasina Akhter Rosy, the headmistress of Pabna Selim Nazir High School, who has been suffering from cancer. ‘Sarker Group’ sponsored the concert.
Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Md. Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan inaugurated the concert. Convenor of Community Policing, Pabna district unit, Advocate Md. Mohiuddin chaired the inaugural programme. Deputy Commissioner Khondoker Md. Mokhlesur Rahman and Police Superintendent, Pabna AFM Masum Rabbani also attended the programme.
Through this concert, we are trying to assist a cancer patient. As social beings, it is our duty to help others when needed, speakers expressed in the same vein.
This was followed by a cultural programme. Close Up 1 star Nolok Babu, Laboni and Shapla presented songs at the concert. “Ma tumi amar agey koborye jeona” was presented by Nolok Babu. Laboni sang “Baburam shapurey” and Shapla performed “Hajar dorshok mon mojaiya”.
Local artistes Rana Fakir, Babul Akhter also presented songs. Film actors Saif and Laboni performed a dance .
