Singer Roquaiya Hasina Neely is well known for her purist approach to rendering Rabindra Sangeet. Her third music album, “Baaje Jhornar Gaan” was released in Dhaka in 2006 and was appreciated by Tagore enthusiasts. The songs are now available on several websites (Google: Roquaiya Hasina). Songs from her third album were played on radio stations in USA and Australia. Her fourth album is set to be released next month.

Eminent singer Runa Laila has been signed to be a judge on a new talent hunt Bishwa Shera, which will be aired on Zee Bangla soon. Recently the diva went to Kolkata on this regard. Artiste Shelu Barua is set to release his new solo album of adhunik songs. The album tilted Kachhe Thako Chhuye Thako, featuring ten songs, will be launched some time in July. “The album will feature adhunik songs with a tinge of ghazal,” Barua informed.
“Each song of the album is melodious,” said Barua, who is also doing the music direction of the album.
